Overview

Initially known as the Walker Building, the Seattle Quilt Building was built in 1905 as a warehouse for Cyrus Walker, a very successful Puget Sound lumberman. In 1924 the property became home to the Seattle Quilt Company, makers of down jackets and sleeping bags, and in 1979 it was restored and converted to mixed-use. In 2006 it underwent a complete renovation including seismic upgrades and restoration of much of the historic nature of the property. Today the Seattle Quilt Building comprises retail at grade, three floors of office space and two floors of residential apartments. It is centrally located in the Pioneer Square district on the vibrant 1st Avenue corridor which is characterized by bars, restaurants and specialty retail stores.
